This was actually a difficult photo to make. The surf on Lake Superior was unpredictable and kept shaking my tripod. At one point a large wave came in and soaked my shoes. Taken on the Orphan Lake Trail. f11, 1/15s, 40mm, ISO 100.

This is a photo of my bedside table at the Motel 6 in Gaithersburg, MD. It was a non-smoking room with a no smoking sticker on the door. There was another no smoking sticker on the ashtray beside my bed. I get the feeling they don’t want you to smoke in the rooms?

I came across this swing off a trail in Cudia Park. It reminded me of a swing that used to be in an alley on Queen Street West, Toronto.

Spidey keeps losing his head. I thought it would be interesting to create a colour mask of Spidey’s body (almost like a chalk outline at a crime scene) and make the background black and white.

If you’re driving along Kingston Road in the Beaches neighbourhood, take a look in the window at 579 Kingston Road. You’ll see a few of the coffee cups that I’ve consumed over the last month.

I didn’t feel like wandering around in the snow on Sunday afternoon so I looked for some things to shoot indoors. For this shot I was playing around with the 70-300mm. Handheld, 1/25s at f/4.5, ISO 800, 90mm.

I came across this penguin who was window shopping in Toronto’s Distillery District. The weather was bittery cold and windy today but this guy didn’t seem to mind.

I shot this a little while ago down in Bluffer’s Park. It’s a couple of images merged into one. The first image was metered for the sky. The second image was metered for the bench. The post-processing of the image saved me from having to use an ND grad filter (which I don’t have).

I spotted a can of this on a window ledge at the old court house building in downtown Pittsburgh. I’m not sure why it was there but I thought it would make an interesting photo for discussion. Love the name.

When some of the faster jets flew past at 1,000 km/hour (half their top speed), white clouds of moisture would puff out from behind their wings. Very cool. And loud!

The sun was starting to set on Lake Kashebog and I thought these coffee cups looked interesting enough for a photo.

I found these hockey pants propped up like this behind Evangel Hall on Queen St. West. They were screaming “shoot me!”
