Early morning photo of the old St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, just north of
Broadbent, Ontario. This church isn’t in use any more but the doors are always open. Taken Oct 3, 2009, just off Dickson Road.

Clever advertisement for a paint company in Coumbus, OH that “leaps off the page” or in this case, wall.

An exterior view of Ford Field in Detroit — home of the Detroit Lions. Next to Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, this is one of the nicest football stadiums I’ve been to.

One of the many green doors in Toronto’s Distillery District. A 12x12” print of this one now hangs in our dining room.

A black and white version of Pennsylvania Station in Pittsburgh.

On the outskirts of Picton, Ontario is a closed Canadian Forces Base. The whole area looks like something out of a film from the 1940s. I believe the base is privately owned now. I just wandered in and started shooting some photos. This is an entrance to one of the many barracks still on this site.

1930’s refurbished Texaco Station in Farmville, Ontario. The light isn’t the best but I couldn’t resist taking a few photos of this building.

The most famous (and photographed) covered bridge in southwestern Vermont. While I was there on Saturday morning, several people came by to take photos. ISO 100, 1/8s at f22, 17-40@37mm, circular polarizer, tripod.

Alvin’s Jewelry Store, downtown Pittsburgh, PA. I liked the retro looking sign. The time on the clock is 6:45 AM. This image was cropped and has some curves and levels adjustments for contrast/saturation. Canon 350D, EF17-40L@39mm, 1/80s @ f4, ISO 200, handheld.

One PPG Place, downtown Pittsburgh. Photo taken early morning before the fog lifted.

This was taken at the end of Polson Street beside the Docks night club. Behind there were about 6 police cars arresting a couple of guys. This was taken around 9 PM (35 minutes after sunset). 30 seconds at f11, ISO 100, 24mm.

I loved the play of shadows on Building No. 63 in Toronto’s Distillery District. This was taken around 1:30 PM.

This lovely building pumps fragrant Toronto sewage to the Ashbridges Bay Treatment Plant. It’s a composite of two images in Photoshop CS 2. I modified the exposure of the RAW image to enhance the look of the sky. Then I loaded in the same image with exporsure settings for the foreground. After some masking and image processing I have a more interesting image than I took in the camera.

Another shot of the Brick Works. I had to crawl on my hands and knees to get into the building today. I wanted to see if the light was any different around 11:30 AM. Not as many rays of light coming through the roof at this time of day.

The Don Valley Brick Works is a photographer’s dream on a sunny morning. Rays of sunlight shine through the holes in the roof creating a fantastic view.

Toronto skyline last night around 9 PM. The Docks on Cherry Street is a great place to view the city. Quite often there are a handful of photographers here, taking photos of the skyline.

Mom’s Place is a local diner hidden away in Fairmont, West Virginia. Where else in the world can 8 guys eat bacon, eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits & gravy, hash browns and toast for only $42 (US)? We ate there twice.

This Scarborough landmark had residents worried recently when the sign changed to the
Ravenwood Motel. The new sign was only temporary while the HAV-A-NAP Motel was being used for a horror film called
Silence (2006). It stars Donnie Wahlberg and is being directed by James Wan who directed
Saw (2004).

The Toronto skyline is in there somewhere. If you squint then you may be able to see the CN Tower. Taken from Humber Park in Etobicoke, where I was dripping wet and struggling to breathe.

Taken a few weeks ago at a friend’s cottage. The gazebo was a great place to eat lunch and hide from the bugs.
